Located east of Paris, this breath-taking region is far from the hustle and bustle of Paris. For a luxurious time, book into the Chateau de Courcelles or the Chateau Les Crayeres, two grandeur hotels that are rich in history and romanticism. The French have been making premier wines in this region for hundreds of years, so every traveler to this region must visit the local vineyards and try some local wines. There is something for every palate. Sample some and you won’t be disappointed. If wine tasting isn’t your thing, then you might want to visit some religious sites or some cool museums. Fancy some cheese? There’s plenty of that to try at the local farmers market where you can pick up some stinky blue or some aged cheddar. Perhaps a punnet of apricots if they’re in season? Oh and did I mention the breads to enjoy whilst on a romantic picnic during sunset? Devine.

With its 550 miles of coastline which is ruled by seaside towns and villages the French Riviera rounds off the list of romantic destinations in Europe. Home of the rich and famous, well, around May anyway during the Cannes international film festival. Artists flocked here in the 1900s to paint and sketch, inspired by the natural beauty of the rugged coast line. The area is also rich in cinematic history thanks to the classic touch of Grace Kelly and the kittenish pouts of Brigitte Bardot.
